  1. Download the Chrome zip and unzip it into a folder you'll keep.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions).
  3. Enable Developer mode (top-right toggle).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.

Keep it updated

Chromium manual installs don't auto-update (Firefox does, via the store). When a new version lands on GitHub:

  1. Download the new zip and replace the folder contents.
  2. On chrome://extensions, hit the refresh icon on the Clify card.
  3. Your settings, lists and counters stay intact.

Why is it a manual install instead of the Web Store?

Firefox users get the best of both — Clify is live on the Mozilla Add-ons store with one-click installs and auto-updates. For Chrome and Chromium, manual install keeps Clify fully open source and free — no store fees, no review queues. Chromium blocks unknown-source auto-updates, so you refresh the extension manually; it takes about 10 seconds.

Is Clify safe to install?

Yes. The source is public, MIT licensed, and Clify makes no network calls beyond the page you're on — everything runs locally. Cloud sync is optional and encrypted.

Does Clify collect my data?
